Summary:
Women in Nazi Germany were only expected to give birth to children to contribute to Germany's population and could not do anything else.

Comments:
I feel that the women of Nazi Germany were only being made use of to increase Germany's population to fight a war.

Summary : The lives of the Jews during the Nazi's rule were extremely tough and unfair. Hitler not only saw the non-Aryans, which include the Jews, as an inferior race to his own, he also made things difficult for them. The Jews were living peacefully until Hitler came into power and their lives changed drastically, and they suffered terribly.

Comments :
I agree with Marvin that we should also look at this from another perspective. Although Hitler did treat certain people and races unfairly, it was still he who made the country rise. After Hitler took over Germany, obvious changes could be seen and the country was getting stronger. If Germany was still ruled by the Weimar Government and Hitler did not appear, Germany would have fallen long ago.

Summary of Edith Stein:
She was formally a Jew and although she converted to a different faith, she was not spared from the Nazis. Despite the fact that her new faith was supposed to be "safe" from harm.

Conclusion:
I feel that the Nazis were cruel and merciless. They were unfair to essentially anyone that they were unhappy with and they did whatever they wanted.

Lives of Women during Nazi Rule

Summary:
Women in Nazi German were only expected to to take care of her family and have as many children as possible.

Comments:
Women were treated very unfairly and I also agree with James that they were only used as a "tool" to increase the German's population.

The Life of Sophie Scholl

Summary:
Sophie Scholl, a woman critical of the Nazi Government, joined The White Rose, which is a group set up by her brother. The White Rose opposed the Nazi Rule and distributed anti-Nazism leaflets to the public. She was caught and executed by guillotine.

Comments:
With every government, there will always be people who oppose their rule. I feel that she was very brave for opposing the Nazi Government.

Life Of Jews During Nazi Rule

Summary:
The Jews were an innocent group in Germany, but Hitler tortured them and blamed them for the country's downfall.
Comments:
However, like Marvin and Zhi Han, I also fell that despite controlling every aspect of the people's lives, he was a charismatic leader and was able to strengthen Germany's economy and economy.S

Summary:
The youths were treated very badly during Nazi rule. The male youths of Germany were not allowed to create their own organizations and were only made to think of Nazi ideas and only allowed to join Nazi youth organizations. The female youths were taught how to take care of babies. Those youths who were not members of the Nazi youth organizations found it difficult to enter universities or find jobs. Those who opposed the Nazi rule and objected to the strict- controlled life, formed anti-Nazi organizations. They were either killed or punished very badly.

Comments:
I feel that Hitler did the right thing by implementing Nazi youth organizations. The youths sooner or later will be taking up jobs in the nation and the support of them will be very much needed to govern Germany. Therefore, killing or punishing those who opposed him is understandable. Even I would have done the same if I was in his shoes!

Lai Jue Hao said...

German youths during Nazi Germany were prepared in a way that they would be able to contribute back to Nazi Germany, helping Hitler to achieve his ideas. As such, there was much emphasis on physical training as Hitler needed strong, capable and loyal soldiers. Females had more restriction as Hitler viewed them as to being confined to taking care of children, the kitchen and the church.

Conclusion: Youth's lives had been changed greatly. Everything had been preset for the youths and they had to meet strict expectations, especially the boys. Their freedom is gone and their education curriculum is changed.

During the Nazi era, thousands, or perhaps millions, of people's lives were changed dramatically. A person who was previously very rich may end up being a bankrupt who was literally left with nothing. One example was Oskar Schindler. He had been a wealthy businessman all his life until the Nazi came into regime. In order to save the Jews, he brought them to work in his factory instead of sending them to concentration camps. In his factory, the Jews were treated as 'humans' and were guarded from the Nazis by the help of Schindler. Schindler often bribed the Nazi officials with expensive stuffs to prevent him from being investigated. By the end of the war, Schindler's entire fortune was gone, due to the bribes and black-market purchases of supplies for his workers. He ended up being a destitute, but a hero to hundreds and thousands of Jews.

I feel that the Nazi Germany had given widespread impacts to her people. However, I agree with Marvin, Ming Guang, and Zhi Han that Nazi Germany also helped prosper the country. Specific individuals may experience severe loss, but generally Germany became more stable in terms of her economical and political aspects.

Life of Jews during Nazi Germany

Summary
The Jews were treated cruelly during Nazi Germany. Hitler deemed them as "sub-humans" and wanted to eradicate them as he believed that they were polluting the "Pure Aryan race". Wrongly accused of being the cause of Germany losing WW2, they were boycotted and lost their wealth as well as their rights to live as an equal in Germany. Many Jews tried to escape to another country. Those who could not were sent to concentration camps by the Nazi and gassed to death, or sent on death marches where they died of exhaustion.

Comments:I believe that the reasons for why the Germans hated the Jews was not a good justification. And it also gave them no right to treat the Jews as such. It went against humanitarian rights.

Summary:
Before the Nazi Rule, a strong youth presence Wandervögel already existed. They (too) longed for a culture whereby youths are led by youths [that they would be valued].

Since Hitler Youth was made compulsory, weaker boys had to suffer the intense trainings.

Girls maintained the traditional mentality on the role of women. But, promoting the growth of his country, Hitler encouraged (what we would deem as) scandalous acts.

Comments:
Hilter knew he could not turn many Germans to the NaziParty, hence making use of the youths of the country. Despicable, as the youths valued him as "god".

Summary:
i conclude that women in Nazi Germany were restricted in many ways. They are required to give birth to many children and cannot have higher education and job, only being to stay at home to do domestic work.

Comments:
i agree with pisacha (peach) that women were treated badly during the Nazi Rule

Jasmine said...

Women in Nazi Germany under Hitler's rule had no freedom and no human rights. Women who once had jobs had to stay at home to take care of their children and husband, depriving them of their social life. Hitler believes that men should be the one working, and the women's job is basically to give birth for the future of Germany. Women even had strict rules such as to the standards of how they wear and look. Young girls in schools were taught how to take care of their husbands and have a decent home. Hitler just want to ensure increase in population so that the country will eventually be more powerful.

Comments:
I agree with James and Peach that women were deprived of freedom and had to stay at home to have many children as possible. Even if they were well educated, they could not work but to stay at home.

Summary on the life of women during the Nazi Rule

Summary:

During Nazi rule,German women had a specific role of bearing "racially-pure" children and be good mothers at home. In other words, women were 'relegated to the kitchen' to perform primarily child-bearing and family-raising duties. Furthermore,German women were encouraged to have as many children as possible by getting financial incentives from the government.

Comment:

In my opinion, this new regulation introduced by Nazi Germany on how women should live their lives was rather restrictive and oppressive. However, the German females of that era had been taught since young that they should be stay-at-home mums while their husbands work to support the family. Thus, they probably accepted this way of life and willingly played their role in the German society.A positive note to highlight was that at least the Nazi Party focused on integrating family values into the society although it was done to increase the population of Aryan Germans and further marginalize the Jews.

Summary:
Hitler saw no reason why a woman should work.
In Weimar Germany there had been 100,000 female teachers, 3000 female doctors and 13,000 female musicians. Within months of Hitler coming to power, many female doctors and civil servants were sacked. This was followed by female teachers and lawyers. By the start of the Second World War, very few German women were in fulltime work.
Comments:
The women in Nazi Germany were not given a chance to establish their career and they are only allowed to stay at home and take care of children. They are not given the freedom to do what they want.

Summary of women under Nazi's rule:

Women were given very limited responsibilities. The Nazis believed that a woman's place was in the home and her role was to produce pure and healthy Germans. Women were to be confined to kinder, kirche, kuche - children, church and kitchen. They were not allowed to take part in government, the law or education too.

I felt that it was very wrong for the Nazis to do so. It was even made illegal for a woman to practice a profession. They deprived women of their freedom and the right to control their own lives.

Joseph Goebbels

Summary: he is born in the 1890s in Rhineland. He graduated with a doctorate in literature and philosophy. When he joins the Nazi Party he is an editor of two party periodicals.
Due to his fierce loyalty towards Hilter he was rewarded.
(This can be seen from their children Helga, Hilde, Helmut, Holde, Hedda, and Heide. Their names all start with the letter H in tribute to Hitler.)
Hilter rewarded him and appointed him as Nazi district head for the Berlin-brandenburg region. He uses this opportunities using his talent and built up the strength of the party in the Capital and then became the person who design posters and publish propaganda. He then created the myth around Hitler and organized the ritualistic and highly choreographed party rallies that help convert the masses to Nazism and provide a platform for Hitler's accession to power in January 1933. Which also contribute to the rise of Hilter.

On 13 March Goebbels becomes head of the newly created National Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. He is also made president of the newly formed Chamber of Culture for the Reich. These positions give him complete control over the press, radio, theatre, films, literature, music, and the fine arts. Goebbels uses his power to flood the country with Nazi propaganda, cementing the myth of the Hilter

The picture on the below is more propaganda against Jews, Gypsies, and other Semites. The Reich was exulted by Goebbels' ministry, while its opponents were denounced. The skeletons in the picture are meant to depict Jews and Gypsies, which were considered by the Reich as "unconditionally exterminable." Propaganda like this swayed the German population to support the Reich and unified the people in their hatred of Jews and other groups. They were led to believe that Jews were to blame for the war and their other sufferings and grievances.

Comments:

Joseph Goebbles personalities…
He has a sharp intelligence but was malformed by the cunning, cynicism. He was also very capable in convincing people. From the speeches he made and gained support of people proves this point. He never actually lied to people but he exaggerated the truth. Until now his propaganda are influencing us daily. He is also a heartless person directly or indirectly he had killed 6 millions people. On top of that he had killed his family when they are defeated in the war.
On the other hand he might be a good father and a good husband because by looking from looking at another perspective he does not want his family to suffer after the defeat as they might be jailed or put to into labour camp. Without him Hilter might not have gain the support he needs. And will not have succeeded in ruling people in Germany. Hilter is lucky to have such a capable person that brings him to rise in popularity.
With his intelligence, he might be a more capable leader than compared to Hilter. I think that it is a waste of his intelligence. If he was a leader, he might have brought Germany to even greater heights and people might not have died under his rule.

Summary of the Hitler Youth:
The Hitler Youth were young boys who were taught how to be soldiers as Hitler saw them to be the future generations. Girls and boys were prepared for marriage and adulthood at an early age. Most famous all the Hitler Youth organisations were the Jugend or Hitler Youth. They were taught to love their Fatherland so much that they did not mind sacrificing themselves for it.

Comments:
I think that the Hitler Youth were in actual fact, very pitiful as they were brought up in an environment where they were taught that their country was the only thing that mattered to them. Thus, most of them would not have led their own lives and instead, would have been misled. The sacrifice of young boys in the face of the Allie's invasion of Germany also serves to show us their conviction in defending Germany. All in all, I can only say that the Hitler Youth were poor souls misled by Hitler.

Summary - Life of the German Youth during Nazi rule:

Once Nazi policies had been put into place, the German youth i.e. those 18 and under, experienced drastic changes in terms of control in their life. Before Nazi rule, they lived as normal children and teenagers. Youths were brainwashed by the Nazis, with the goal of making the whole of German youth - who were viewed as the future of Germany - Nazi members. Non-Nazi youth organisations were banned. Every German youth was forced into a Nazi organisation, aimed to train and mould them into the ideal Germans Hitler wanted: boys to be military men; girls to be healthy and trained mothers. Great disadvantages were given to those who escaped from joining Nazi organisations. Furthermore, their curriculum was harshly discriminative upon the Jews and emphasised only Biology and Physical Education to teach about the Aryan race and physical fitness. The German Youth were controlled in every way in favour of the Nazis.

Comments:
The German youth were truly focused upon as the future of Germany. However, my opinion is that they were brought up to favour the Nazis more than to favour Germany. Surprisingly, I agree with Vishnu. It seemed like the harsh thing to do to these kids, but if I were a huge political leader like Hitler, I would've thought more of the bigger picture of Germany rather than bothering how tired or uncomfortable these youths may be. I would also like to add on to Jue Hao's comment regarding their education. I feel that Hitler completely disregarded complete education for the youths. To me, it resembled a bit like the Spartans in ancient Greece, who were trained from as young as 7 to be men of war. The entire German curriculum was not on education; it was on nothing but Nazi ideas and training.

Jew's life during Nazi's Rule

Summary: The lives of the Jews were extremely tough even before Hitler came to power. The Jews were discriminated and this was shown by the kind of treatment that they receive. Their lives became worse when Hitler took over, taking them as an inferior race to his own. The Jews suffered from many disadvantages. One example would be the fact that Jews were banned from economic life in Germany. Ghettos --- a special section of a city that the Jews were forced to live in --- were probably the most notable places in Germany whereby millions of Jews were killed from gunshots or even gassed to death in gas chambers.

Comments: I feel that even if Hitler and the Nazi Party hated the Jews that much, they should not even wipe them out in the most horrible method known to Man. The life of Jews during the Nazi Rule taught us about world peace and refraining from discrimination of other races. Nevertheless, I admire the fact that the Jews had the courage to rebel against the Nazi Party that held them up in Ghettos, the strong determination that freedom for the Jews is not far away. Active resistance from the Jews gave them a sense of hope in a time of hopelessness to act humanely to each other in a time of inhumanity like this. Such acts of the Jews would definitely melt the hearts of many people and put the Nazi Party to shame for the years to come.

Joseph Goebbels

Summary:
Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's propoganda director, was the mastermind behind Hitler's rise to power as he was the one who organised the massive rallies that converted many Germans to Nazism. He was a warped genius who was used his intellect for all the wrong reasons. Without him, Hitler would might not have been as successful as he was.

Comments:
I feel that although Goebbels was a genius, he had used his incredible talent for the wrong reasons as he had caused many innocent people to die, not only those whom the Nazi's discriminated against, but many young men who became soldiers to fight for the Nazi's cause.

SUMMARY OF JOSEPH GOEBBELS
He was the Reich Minister for Popular Enlightenment and Propoganda and he succeeded Hitler as the Chancellor of Germany and Nazi Minister of Propaganda.

The hostility to the intellect of the "little doctor," his contempt for the human race in general and the Jews in particular, and his complete cynicism were an expression of his own intellectual self-hatred and inferiority complexes, his overwhelming need to destroy everything sacred and ignite the same feelings of rage, despair and hatred in his listeners.
COMMENTS:
I feel that it was mainly because of his physical deforms and the discrimination he receive since young that make him an aggresive person who supports violent, discriminate against others like the jews and support hitler in his cruel plans.he manages the nazi propaganda very well which helps hitler alot.he was a stepping stone for hitler success.he was very loyal to hitler even when he commit suicide with his whole family, showing his utmost loyalty to hitler.after reading others entries,i feel that the women were very pitiful with no freedom to work and achieve their life goals.like james,i agree that they are tools to produce soldiers to fight war lead by hitler.i feel sorry for them and feel that i was fortunate to be able to do what i want.=)

Summary on Ernst Rohm:

Rohm was the leader of the Sturmabteilung (SA) or Stormtroopers. He was very loyal to Hitler. However, in the early morning of June 30 1934, Rohm and his fellow SA leaders got executed in prison as Hitler felt that he and the SA now pose a serious threat to him. Subsequently, the June 30 massacre became known as the Night of Long Knives.

Comments:
I felt unjust towards Rohm and the fellow SA leaders. They might pose a serious threat towards Hitler, however, executing them was too cruel. There are definitely many other ways for Hitler to get rid of the threat, therefore, I do not see the need to use the extremes like execution.
